About The Bionic Man & Bionic Woman

The Six Million Dollar Man was Steve Austin (Lee Majors) and debuted in 1973. Austin, a NASA test pilot was critically injured after a crash. "We can rebuild him...we have the technology." The show ranked #11 in it's first year, then rebuilt its ratings to #9 in 1975 according to classictvhits.com

Following the show's success, came The Bionic Woman (Lindsay Wagner); who ran past The Bionic Man in ratings in 1975, as the #5 most popular TV show in the USA.

Fact: $6,000,000 in 1973 would be the equivalent of $29,109,849.46 in 2010. (source: westegg.com)

"Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology...to build the world's first, bionic man...Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster."

--- Six Million Dollar Man (1973)

What is "Proof Uncirculated?"

PROOF UNCIRCULATED - Meaning the items never hit the store shelves; came from their original factory sealed case and only opened and authenticated by the 3rd party grader, AFA.

Most collectors buy toys at retail stores or on-line. Fewer collectors buy entire cases which are normally only obtained from dealers, and cost more because one is buying typically 12 figures in a case.

Not all dealers sell factory sealed cases mostly because individuals may not always want to buy an entire cases, as they might just want one or a few choice items that came in that case.

A premium is or should be awarded to distinguish the rarity and the cost on having an entire case purchased even if one item is graded from the case.

We believe that authenticated sealed factory cases have a theoretical value higher than single "off the store shelf" figures.

This is due to the fact that Proof Uncirculated items have never been mass handled by the retail public.

Once a factory sealed case has been authenticated, the "U" grade meaning "Uncirculated" is added to the final grade.

Sometimes U-grades don't fully realize their potential value right away. But we believe that over time, as both most cases are opened, and most figures are opened and played with, this leaves limited odds that U-grades will be in the public domain.

Naturally, the higher the grade, and more unique the item, and harder to get, the greater potential in collector value.

All AFA items come in a custom AFA sealed acrylic case with a unique verifiable AFA serial number and AFA hologram seal.

Please note, just like any investment, we are not able to guarantee the future value of anything we sell.
