About Webkinz
Webkinz® are duel purposed plush stuffed toys released by a Canadian
company called Ganz beginning 2005. Ganz (toy company) was founded in Canada in 1950.
Webkinz are soft plush toys each with a unique coded tag attached to the toy (removable).
Visit webkinz.com and enter the code to have one year of free play in a virtual world designed
for kids.
Users take care of their virtual on-line pet(s) by feeding, cleaning, clothing, entertaining via many games and
activities.
Users can earn KinsCash (pretend money) to purchase food, clothing, virtual-toys, and create virtual home. Each registration
starts one with free initial KinsCash. Subsequent KinsCash can be earned by playing a variety of on-line kids games
from checkers to educational trivia.
Even if users don't take care of their virtual pets, they do not ever die.
If one does not want to play on-line, they still have a great plushy toy for the real world!
The coded tags don't expire until one year after they are registered. New pets can be added to the same account
to extend free on-line game play.
Each new registration of a new code extends the free play from 1 year from the last sign up date.
The company reported in 2006 that they are over 1 million accounts registered.
Each pet is produced for a limited period of time then retired, which has created a collectible market for them.
Webkinz come in various sizes. The two most common sizes are Lil' Kinz (smaller size) and a larger size. Sample
