The vehicle has a base paint color (shown), and when you add cool or cold water, the color of the vehicle changes. Add warmer water, and it changes back instantly. The manufacturer originally used this special paint technology on certain Barbie dolls for playing in water. Definitely a unique item. No other type of cars have used this technology that we could find. Only packages marked with the "Color Changers" logo can change colors - unless of course one paints them! As popularity increases, collectors begin to pick up especially the more popular characters, unique characters, and the ones produced in limited quantity. Dealers tend to watch demand by collectors and price demand accordingly. Dealers also consider inventory costs for properly caring and warehousing hot items which can add to the cost over time. A basic rule for collecting is that the newer the release, and the more available the item, the lower the price. The older the item, a discontinued version, a discontinued packaging, a hard to find version all can increase collector demand due to scarcity, thus increased prices.
